Neil Bhatt on Filming His Dance Sequence in One Take on Mr and Mrs Parshruam: “Most Memorable Parts Was Seeing How Everyone Reacted"

Continuing this legacy, Star Plus recently launched Mr and Mrs Parshuram, a show that stands out for its fresh and unconventional storyline. The series stars Neil Bhatt and Shambhavi Singh as Shivprasad and Shalini, with Neil receiving appreciation for his layered double role as Shivprasad and Parshuram.

In a recent episode, viewers saw a surprising and entertaining side of Shivprasad as Neil Bhatt delivered a high-energy dance performance on a lively track. The scene showed Shalini watching him with visible frustration while Shivprasad danced fearlessly with unmatched passion. Adding to the charm, the entire sequence was filmed in a single take and was completely unchoreographed.

Neil performed the complete sequence entirely on his own, leaving the cast and crew amazed by his confidence, energy, and natural performance. Speaking about the experience, Neil shared, “The ‘Shantabai’ sequence turned out to be a complete surprise and was shot in a single take, which made it even more exciting. Just before my portion, the choreographer suggested changing the entry track to ‘Shantabai,’ and I got to know about it at the very last moment. There was no choreography for me; we only planned the camera positions and decided to keep the performance raw and spontaneous.”

Talking about people’s reaction, he shared, “I started from one point and let the music take over. It was full of energy, completely in the moment, and I just danced my heart out. One of the most memorable parts was seeing how everyone reacted, especially the kids who were excited and trying to copy the steps.”

Neil further added, "For me, it doesn’t matter whether a performance is shot in one take or multiple cuts; what matters is the impact and honesty it brings on screen. I’ve done many choreographed dances before, but this was different, a free-flowing, non-choreographed experience that I truly enjoyed, and the audience response has been incredibly heartwarming.”

Neil Bhatt has been earning praise for his layered double role as Shivprasad and Parshuram. As Shivprasad, he plays a grounded, middle-class man devoted to his family, a caring husband and loving father. However, behind this simple life lies a dangerous secret.
